Terry Kauffman will describe how a small town can reach economic
development and community goals through smart growth strategies. He is
a former Chairman of The Board of Commissioners of Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania, where Mount Joy is located. He also serves as Chairman of
10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania, a coalition of 240 organizations
committed to the revitalization of our cities and towns.

Audience:

The Smart Growth Speaker Series audience includes developers, public officials, planners, architects, students, environmentalists, citizens and others intereseted in smart growth. The Series routinely attracts many leaders involved in the land and transportation development of the greater Washington region and beyond. Typical audiences over the seven years of this series have ranged from 75 to 400, depending on the topic. The Smart Growth Speaker Series is free. No registration is required. Continuing education credits for some professions are available from the National Building Museum.
