Union Station in Washington DC, the second-busiest Amtrak station in the country, may soon undergo a transformation. Amtrak is proposing to turn Union Station into a hub for high-speed rail and redevelopment. The proposal, if enacted, would triple passenger capacity and double the number of trains the station can accommodate.
