A new bicycle loan program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is extremely popular. Launched with a $10,000 sustainability grant, the bike loan program offers mountain bikes on a first-come, first-served basis. The program offers bikes climatized for the Alaskan winter - with studded tires, insulated hand covers, and low-temperature gear grease.
