Compact Neighborhoods Policy Announced by Massachusetts Governor
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has announced a new Compact Neighborhoods Policy, which will provide incentives for the development of multi-family housing near transit centers. State officials hope the program will spur the creation of 10,000 new housing units annually. To be eligible for the incentives, developers will need to plan at least eight units per acre for multi-family homes and four units per acre for single-family homes.
