EPA Awards $69.3 Million to Clean Up Contaminated Community Sites
EPA has announced $69.3 million in grants to provide communities with funding needed to clean and redevelop contaminated properties, boost local economies, and create jobs while protecting public health. According to EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, “These grants will be the first step in getting pollution out and putting jobs back into neighborhoods across the country.” EPA is awarding a total of 245 grants to tribes and communities in 39 states.
