Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie recently revealed plans for what he called Honolulu’s “Third City,” a live-work-and-play urban neighborhood in central Honolulu with cafes, parks, lofts, preschools and senior centers, startup businesses, retail stores, and high-rises with both upscale and affordable housing. Dozens of projects are planned for the next few years, to bring jobs, housing, and new vitality to Honolulu’s core.
