Housing Trend Moves Toward Multi-Family Homes
Between 1985 and 2010, about 60 percent of all houses built in California were single-family homes and 40 percent were multi-family, such as condominiums and apartment buildings. But from 2010 to 2035 Southern California planners project almost 70 percent of new homes will be multi-family, and about 30 percent will be single-family homes.
