"Inclusive Design Long Island" to Encourage Multi-generational, Accessible Housing
Vision Long Island and AARP have announced the formation of Inclusive Design Long Island, an initiative designed to increase the amount and quality of barrier-free, multi-generational housing in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The program will focus on promoting public awareness of how homes can be attractively built or remodeled to accommodate people of all ages and physical abilities. Eric Alexander, executive director of Vision Long Island, said, “This initiative will raise awareness of inclusive design and how it adds value to each home and sustains livability for the community.”
