Kansas City on Track for New Downtown Street Car
Kansas City may soon be on track to build a new streetcar line. If voters approve the spending, the new line will break ground in 2013 and begin welcoming passengers in early 2015. Funding for the two-mile downtown line would come from $18 million from the metropolitan planning organization, plus sales and property taxes to be paid by members of a special taxing district surrounding the planned line.
