Lack of Walkability Linked to Diabetes
A new study published in the journal Diabetes Care concluded that people who lived in less-walkable neighborhoods in Toronto, Canada, were significantly more likely to develop diabetes. The study found that a resident in a less-walkable neighborhood was 50 percent more likely to develop diabetes than a resident living in one of the most walkable areas, regardless of neighborhood income.
