Los Angeles Development Eliminates Parking Requirement
The Los Angeles City Planning Commission recently approved a redevelopment plan for the Cornfield Arroyo Seco area. The plan will transform an underutilized industrial area north of downtown into a cluster of mixed-use, pedestrian-oriented and aesthetically pleasing neighborhoods. An interesting innovation in the plan is the complete lack of required parking spaces. The effect will be to let the market decide how much parking is needed and where.
