Millennial Generation Driving Fewer Miles
The number of vehicle-miles traveled by people between the age of 16 and 34 has dropped almost 25 percent during the past decade. This trend away from the historical steady growth in miles driven is likely to be long-lasting, concluded a recent research report titled Why Young People Are Driving Less and What It Means for Transportation Policy. The study concluded that younger individuals prefer living in places where they can easily walk, bike and take public transportation.
