The Mobile City Council voted recently to approve “A New Plan for Mobile,” an economic and urban development blueprint commissioned by Mayor Sam Jones during his first term in office. Walkability, mixed land-use and other smart growth principles are now officially part of Mobile’s master plan, which is meant to guide development in the city.
