New Land Bank Law Approved for Pennsylvania
A newly-passed Land Bank Act will allow Pennsylvania communities to address the problem of more than 300,000 vacant properties statewide. Land banks are local entities that can acquire vacant and abandoned properties and direct their subsequent redevelopment and reuse. The new law allows Pennsylvania’s municipalities to create public land bank authorities to efficiently acquire, manage and develop tax-foreclosed properties.
