A recent story by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) discussed their Building Sustainable Communities program work in Philadelphia. LISC and the local Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM) have achieved the rebirth of Philadelphia’s Eastern North neighborhood, creating almost 300 units of affordable housing and a shopping center with a supermarket, laundromat, and credit union.
