Chicago Pushes Forward on 2040 Regional Plan
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is working to implement its “GO TO 2040″ regional plan for prosperity-including its goal to strengthen the region’s food systems—with assistance from a 2010 HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Grant. By producing more food locally, the Chicago region could create more than 5,000 jobs and generate as much as $6.5 billion per year in economic activity.
