A wider, bike-friendly bridge is being planned to replace the old Goethals Bridge between Elizabeth, New Jersey, and the borough of Staten Island, New York. The new bridge will boast a 10-foot-wide bicycle and pedestrian pathway, a feature that is missing in the existing Goethals Bridge. The new bridge will be completed by 2017.
