Penn State Students Tackle Community Revitalization Projects

Penn State’s Landscape Architect program offers an innovative course to help students engage community members in urban revitalization projects. Residents of inner-city neighborhoods work collaboratively with the students to address issues such as lack of green space, vacant lots and dilapidated buildings. The communities normally would not have the opportunity to work with landscape architects, but collaborating with the students is often a catalyst for the residents to take action in their neighborhoods.
