Planning a Boston Apartment Building Without Parking Space
A Boston architect wants to design a green development where tenants waive their rights to a dedicated parking space. The design includes many features that would not be feasible if it included space for parking, including private gardens for each unit, a central community courtyard, open walkways, and 18,000 total square feet of garden. The development, which has yet to be approved by city officials, would be built in a neighborhood where 45% of current residents do not own cars.
