Redeveloped Milwaukee Brewery Site Receives Top Green Award

A hilltop site once famous for brewing beer has been named one of the greenest neighborhoods in the world. The Brewery, a redevelopment project at the former Pabst Brewing Company, won the highest designation for sustainable development practices from the U.S. Green Building Council. It was one of only three neighborhoods in the United States to be granted the LEED Neighborhood Development Platinum designation. The redeveloped area now includes the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Public Health, the Blue Ribbon Brewery Lofts apartment building, senior housing, office buildings, and a public park.
