The Federal Highway Administration has published new national guidance on measuring pedestrian and bicycle usage. The guidance describes best practices and equipment for conducting counts and interpreting collected data. Having a better understanding of how many people walk and ride bicycles is essential to successful implementation of Complete Streets policies.
