Residential Construction Trends in America's Metropolitan Regions - 2012 Report
This latest report from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency maps where infill is taking place nationwide by comparing the locations of new home construction with existing data on land cover. Nearly three out of four large metropolitan regions saw an increased share of infill housing development in 2005-2009 compared with 2000-2004. Nationwide, infill accounted for one-fifth of new housing construction; though it varied widely among metropolitan regions.
