Cycling in the City: An Update on New York City's "Cycling Counts" Program
Over the last six years, New York City has worked to implement a major expansion of its bicycle network. More than 300 miles of new and enhanced bicycle routes have been developed, 8,000 new bike racks installed, and 75,000 free bicycle helmets and 1.8 million free bicycle maps distributed.
