Leadership for Active Living Strategies

State and local government leaders are in a unique position to serve as visionaries regarding important community issues. One of the most important issues our communities face today is a staggering increase in the rates of obesity and chronic disease. Active living offers an opportunity for leaders to address this issue and to help improve the health and vitality of our communities.

Communities that support active living gain health benefits, economic advantages and improved quality of life. Plus, there is a growing demand across the nation for active living communities. People want to live in places where they’re able to be active.
