Founded in 1914, ICMA is the professional and educational association for more than 9,000 appointed administrators and assistant administrators serving cities, counties, other local governments, and regional entities around the world. ICMA is also the organizational "home" for the Smart Growth Network, an independent membership organization that assists its members in identifying strategies and tools to protect the health and welfare of their communities through the integration of environmentally sound decision making and economic growth. ICMA also produces the SGN quarterly newsletter, Getting Smart!
